Export Payment & Cross-Border Receivables
For China-based exporters: when an overseas buyer delays payment, makes deductions or raises a quality claim, review delivery, reconciliation, objections and practical recovery together.
Establish the transaction and balance
Identify the buyer, consignee, payer and intermediary, then reconcile orders, invoices, due dates, payments and remaining balances. Keep orders and legal entities distinct.
Review quality objections and deductions
Collect acceptance, receipt, complaints, returns, credits and the stated basis for deductions. Separate an undisputed overdue balance from items affected by quality, delay or other contractual conditions.
Consider where recovery would occur
Review the dispute clause, buyer location, known assets, security and insurance. China-side document and contract work does not amount to representation in every foreign court; local legal support must be arranged where needed.
Define the recovery task
Agree the current scope for reconciliation, review, demands, negotiation or procedural assessment. Review the responsible entity, payment milestones, conditions and consequences of default in any settlement or instalment proposal.
Scope and limitations
No global recovery service or outcome is promised. Foreign-law advice, overseas proceedings, tax and insurance issues require suitable professional support where relevant.
