How We Work & Fees
Confirm the facts, objective, deadlines and work that can be undertaken before agreeing fees and deliverables. An enquiry does not automatically create an engagement or start proceedings.
1. Start with a non-confidential summary
Start with your business or individual role, the stage, party locations, objective and deadline. An amount is not required for every matter. Do not initially attach full health records, children’s records or trade secrets.
2. Check conflicts and scope
The lawyer confirms whether further discussion is possible, the communication language, document channel and required materials. An English website is not a promise of every English document or foreign-law service.
3. Agree output and fees
An initial assessment can cover a timeline, document index and gaps, questions to verify and proposed next-stage scope. Specify whether written advice, letters, drafting or representation is included. Agree fees before engagement based on complexity, documents, language, procedure and third-party work.
4. Written engagement and next stages
Representation requires the law firm's conflict check and written agreement. After a stage ends, the findings and client decision guide a separate scope for letters, negotiation or proceedings.
Scope and limitations
No unconfirmed fixed price, free-call duration, response commitment or guaranteed outcome is advertised. Testing, translation and foreign-counsel costs require separate confirmation.
